Miss Rhode Island 2017 Nicolette Peloquin graduated from Salve Regina University in May 2017 with a B.A. in Administration of Justice. She is currently working towards her Masters degree in School Counseling at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Nicolette has volunteered at the Rhode Island Training School helping adjudicated youth work towards their high school diplomas, GEDs and higher education plans. She has also interned with Communities for People and taught life skills curriculum to children in DCYF care. On the weekends, she performs as a princess doing magic tricks and balloon animals for children all over the state of Rhode Island!
Nicolette is passionate about advocating for her platform, Be the Match: The National Bone Marrow Registry. As someone who has had a scare with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and lost her grandparents to cancer, this is a cause that is near to her heart. She donated stem cells through Be the Match in 2016 and successfully saved a sixty-year-old strangers life. It is her hope to increase the number and diversity of donors on the bone marrow registry.
